Bargain Hunters, Take Note: Six Apps That Help You Save Money

Calling all bargain hunters: technology is now available to assist you in your money-saving ventures. These days, there’s an app for just about everything you can imagine, so it should really come as no surprise that there are apps to help you find bargains, manage your finances, and save money. However, with so many apps claiming to help you save, finding the best ones for your needs is often challenging. That’s where we come in. Let’s discuss the must-have apps that help you save money:

You Need a Budget (YNAB): This budget assistant app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Whether you feel like you’re drowning in debt or simply like to stick to a budget, this app is for you. You’ll be amazed to see how you can get ahead financially without an increase in salary. Your personal budget assistant helps you to become aware of how you’re spending so that you naturally spend less money. Don’t get stuck living paycheck to paycheck– You Need a Budget today!

GasBuddy: For most of us, gas is a mandatory expense. But that doesn’t mean that you have to pay more than necessary to fill up your tank. Enter: GasBuddy. This mobile app and website will help you find the cheapest gas station around, whether you’re just down the road from your house or are traveling out-of-town. Stop paying outrageous gas prices based solely on convenience and let your GasBuddy find the best deals for you.

COSIGN: For all of the shoppers and fashionistas out there, this app is for you. How many times have you snapped a picture of your favorite outfit or newest product to share on social media? Now you can get paid to do just that. Use COSIGN to snap pictures of your must-have products and wardrobe staples. Then simply tag the products individually. If someone in your social network purchases a product through a retailer via your tag, you earn a commission check! Visit the Google Play or iTunes app stores to download COSIGN.

Ibotta: It sounds almost too good to be true: an app that allows you to earn money for shopping. But that’s just what Ibotta does! Available for iOS and Android, this app adds pending cash to your account based on your completion of various tasks (like watching a video). You can access your cash after you make a purchase from one of Ibotta’s 50 retail partners.

RetailMeNot: Every bargain hunter loves a good coupon and that’s just what the RetailMeNot app provides for its users. Available for iOS and Android, RetailMeNot allows you to browse coupons from hundreds of high-profile retailers. An added bonus: there’s no coupon clipping or printing with this app. Just show your phone at the register and let the saving begin!

Grocery iQ: We’ve all been guilty of it at one time or another: walking into a grocery store without any real list or plan– and then making numerous impulse purchases. The Grocery iQ app, available on iOS and Android, helps you to avoid those wasteful purchases by helping you build your grocery list. You can also scan barcodes, locate nearby stores, and surf for coupons. This app is a must-have for those who need to get their grocery spending under control.

Groupon: If you’re looking for big savings, this app is for you. Groupon, which is available on iOS, Android, and Windows, offers discounts on everything from retail stores to restaurants to hotels. These aren’t small bargains, either; Groupon routinely offers as much as 50-90 percent off! Want to find the deals closest to you? The app offers the ability to search by location.

I have started using Groupon lately and am blown away by the savings! We had planned to take my niece out for graduation dinner and I got $60 at the restaurant we were going to for only $30. Now, I always look at my Groupon email to see if there’s anything that I can save money on that I actually need—not extra things.

I haven’t tried most of the stuff on your list. But I recently downloaded this app called GrabPoints and so far I’m liking it. They have lots of offers in a day and the surveys aren’t long. Points given out are quite high and they’re fair about giving the points. Oddly enough they always give out points on their social media accounts too! hahaha! Anyway here’s my invite code: S6FMAC you get 50PTS right away for using it. If you download GRABPOINTS you get 1$ just for signing up. You guys have to try it.
